This doesn't surprise me as I myself have noticed the downfall of Windows by simply using it. I have used Linux and Windows for over 12 years, side by side. And I can say that nowadays, Linux is winning at this game. Why? For starters, it is a better performer on identical hardware when compared to Vista. Vista is a resource HOG. Sure you can buy a nice computer now and happily run Vista, but what about the next version of Windows, will it require you to upgrade your hardware? With Linux you can count on using the same computer for years to come, without needing an upgrade.

There are many disadvantages of using Microsoft software, because it is commercial and closed-source. Microsoft is in the game to make money, and this can get in the way of writing quality software.

http://members.apex-internet.com/sa/windowslinux

Well i am not a huge fan of Linux becuase of its usability issues for normal users, but i do agree that Windows fails to perform sometimes what they promise. I think open community is becoming more anti windows and they have started liking Linux from the start. Can't wait to see Windows 7 in action.
